Two NYU fraternities are under investigation for allegations of hazing. Each was recently recognized as inactive by NYU for failure to act in good standing.

A major component of the NYU 2031 Expansion plan includes a new building at 181 Mercer Street. Community members have mixed opinions over plans for the building.

The ongoing negotiation between NYU and the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Technical Staff still hasn’t reached a conclusion. Other meetings are scheduled for Nov. 7 and Nov. 14.

NYU's Arthur L. Carter Institute of Journalism has decided to end its relationship with NYU's Abu Dhabi campus over concerns of access to the campus.
Several local Mercer Street residents have expressed concerns over recent NYU plans for 181 Mercer Street. They cite that the new proposals could  impact air quality and amount of natural light surrounding their buildings.

The Department of History, Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies and Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies will host a "Energy and the Left" workshop on March 30. The workshop will focus on the relationship between the creation of energy infrastructure and its effect on the leftist struggle.
