NYU Langone Health received a $75 million donation from The Julia Koch Family Foundation — a philanthropic group that supports healthcare, education, and the arts — to establish an ambulatory care center in its newly-purchased West Palm Beach location. The gift marks one of the foundation’s first grants after being established last year.
The new location, which is slated to open in 2026 as the Julia Koch Family Ambulatory Care Center, will provide specialty care in internal medicine, oncology and pain management, with the goal of improving access to care and reducing patient wait times. When asked for comment, a university spokesperson and a representative for Julia Koch referred WSN to a press release announcing the donation.
“My family and I have been impressed with NYU Langone’s transformation in the past two decades,” Koch said in the release. “Through its growing outpatient network, the institution continues to increase access to the best care through groundbreaking research and cutting-edge medical education. NYU Langone is a leader in world-class care, and bringing that level of service to the vibrant community of Palm Beach is deeply meaningful to our family.”
The university purchased the building where the center will be housed for $33 million earlier this month, marking NYU Langone’s third location in West Palm Beach and its fourth in Florida. The center will have space for 50 physicians and serve 150,000 patients each year.
The new building is located less than a mile away from the medical center’s existing office at 101 N. Clematis St. — which opened in 2017 and has also been renamed as the Julia Koch Family Ambulatory Care Center. NYU Langone also operates a facility in Delray Beach, approximately 22 miles south of its other locations.
