An NYU student and a visitor to the university were caught in a physical altercation at Bobst Library Tuesday afternoon, during a pro-Israeli sit-in. The perpetrator, another student, was detained by police after the incident.

The university reported that shots were fired near its Brooklyn campus Monday afternoon before issuing an all-clear in an emergency alert to the NYU community. No injuries were reported in the incident.
