Bagels are a New York City culinary staple — culture-defining, easy, and delicious. Whether you like them plain, with cream cheese or smothered in melted butter, bagels are affordable and an easy way to fill yourself up for the day ahead. Here are the best bagel places near each dorm.

U-Hall, Third North, Palladium and Coral Towers

David’s Bagels, Hours: Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m, Address: 273 First Ave.

David’s Bagels has been around for 28 years. They offer a variety of bagel flavors, such as everything and honey wheat sesame, and they even have gluten-free options. David’s Bagels also has great coffee and homemade cream cheese.

Rubin Hall and Weinstein Hall

Murray’s Bagels, Hours: Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m; Saturday – Sunday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Address: 500 Sixth Ave.

Since 1965, Murray’s Bagels has been serving traditional NYC bagels in Greenwich Village. Their bagels are hand-rolled and made daily. They sell all kinds of bagels from everything to onion and also have delicious bagel breakfast and speciality sandwiches. Their most famous sandwiches include The Aldo, with prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, roasted pepper, oil and vinegar and Roz’s Reuben, with New York style corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Murray’s also serves fresh Counter Culture Farmhouse coffee.

Bagels on the Square, Hours: Monday – Sunday: 24 hours, Address: 7 Carmine St.

Offering a wide variety of toppings and flavors, Bagels on the Square is a great place to satisfy your late night food cravings. Their bagels are huge and always fresh, and they offer tofu cream cheese and other vegan options. For a taste of the Mediterranean, try a bagel with sun-dried tomato and feta spread. Or, for a more traditional breakfast, opt for peanut butter and jelly.

Second Street and Green House

Tompkins Square Bagels, Hours: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Address: 165 Avenue A

With a hip, brick-walled interior, Tompkins Square Bagels is a great place to sit and enjoy your breakfast. They have a lot of cream cheese flavors to spread on your fluffy, fresh bagel, such as chocolate chip cookie dough, chipotle avocado, bacon herb and wasabi. With all these flavors  and speciality sandwiches like their mozzarella cheese sandwich, Tompkins Square Bagels is worth a visit.

Broome Street and Lafayette Hall

Black Seed Bagels, Hours: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Address: 170 Elizabeth St.

This modern bagel shop serving hand-rolled and wood oven-baked bagels is the perfect place to sit down. Black Seed Bagels’ cozy and cool interior provides ample space for you to enjoy one of their many tasty bagel sandwiches, such as the Pepperoni Pizza Bagel.

Carlyle and 13th Street

Bagel Buffet, Hours: Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Address: 510 Sixth Ave.

The Bagel Buffet is a traditional New York City bagel shop and deli. They offer all kinds of bagels with classic toppings like butter, jelly and cream cheese. They also have special cream cheese flavors like strawberry, jalapeno, cucumber and chocolate chip. Bagel Buffet prides itself with being the best bagel spot in New York, but that’s up to you to decide.

Gramercy

Gramercy Bagels, Hours: Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Address: 246 Third Ave.

On Gramercy Bagels’ eclectic menu you will find a variety of spreads, cheeses and meats. Some bagels they offer are bacon, pumpernickel and blueberry. You can top these bagels with cream cheese flavors like peanut butter, lox and jalapeno or with spreads like tuna salad, pesto, and buffalo chicken salad.

Bagel Bob’s has medium sized,crunchy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside bagels that are 10 percent off for NYU students. Scallion cream cheese on their everything bagel is one of the shop’s most popular orders. To get a quick, fresh and filling bagel stop by Bagel Bob’s.

Othmer Hall and Clark Street   

La Bagel Delight, Hours: Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Address: 90 Court St.

This counter-service deli offers hand-rolled bagels. They have a large selection of bagels and cream cheeses including vegan cream cheese. It is a great place to grab a bagel on your way to class. With an awesome environment boasting free wifi and music, La Bagel Delight is also a great place to finish up homework and munch on a fresh bagel. They also have big breakfast plates that include eggs, bacon, fries and a bagel.
