Stern Dean Peter Henry will step down from his position in December. The search committee for a new Dean is currently being formed.
CAS senior Wyatt Tyler, who was set to graduate with an Environmental Studies degree this May, passed away on Saturday after falling from his friend's apartment building window. He was a politically and socially active student — especially for environmentally-related causes — and people close to him attributed his large network of friends to his dynamic personality.

In remembrance of CAS senior Wyatt Tyler who passed away on Saturday, Washington Square News spoke with those closest to him. He will receive a posthumous degree from NYU this May.
According to the Brooklyn Eagle, NYU Langone Medical Center is continuing its expansion efforts by adding a site in Bay Ridge. So, the Brooklyn community will have more access to medical care.

NYU Criticized for Ties to Aramark

NYU Prison Divest created a petition requesting that the university end its relationship with the food provider Aramark Corporation.
The six NYU faculty members — Heidi White, Elena Cunningham, Gregory Erickson, John Halpin, Benard Dreyer and John Gorshman —  have been awarded the 2017 University Distinguished Teaching Award. The recognition — received by nominations from students, faculty and alumni — is given to faculty who show prowess in their teaching ability.
