Flying Solo’s Ready-to-Wear Collection hit the runway on Friday afternoon, showcasing the newest trends for the upcoming months. Flying Solo is a company which features different independent designers from around the world and gives them a platform where they can bring their designs to the public. It is a company owned and operated by the designers themselves and has a goal to transform the fashion culture through a different retail experience. This fashion show displayed the works of 28 different designers.
The show featured many noteworthy pieces, including a neon pink Panama hat, face masks and feathers. One designer even sent models down the runway with bright yellow pacifiers.
What was most notable about this show was the frequent use of feathers and wide-leg pants. There were also multiple wrap dresses and metallic fabrics. A couple of menswear looks on the runway incorporated geometric designs into the shirts and trousers. A sheer black plastic skirt and a white transparent top that had ruffles spiraling in the front stood out from all the other designs. Although the plastic skirt seemed like an uncomfortable piece to wear, the design was interesting and different from the rest.
Once the show was over, all the designers stepped out and walked down the runway.
