NYU hockey’s Thanksgiving break provides the perfect opportunity to check in on the team’s progress just over a dozen games into the 2016-17 season. Here’s a cross-section of the squad, by the numbers:

12-2: The Violets’ record 14 games into their 25-game regular season.

70: Goals for the Violets.

35: Goals against the Violets.

.940: Freshman goalie Adam Salisbury’s team-leading save percentage.

0: Salisbury and junior goaltender Jack Nebe’s combined losses this season.

12: Sophomore defenseman Connor Finocchio’s team-leading plus/minus.

19: Points each for Violet leaders, junior forward Michael Conslato and sophomore forward Mason Gallegos.

11: Team-leading goal total for Conslato.

16: Team-leading assist total for sophomore forward John Kowalewski.

29: Penalty minutes for Connor Finocchio, the team’s leader.

25: Goals scored for the Violets on the power play.

4: Violet games remaining before the turn of the calendar year.

1: Canadian on the team, senior defenseman Evan Ripley.

530: The approximate number of miles from New York to Columbus, where the 2017 National Tournament the Violets hope to be playing in will be held.

The Violets play again next weekend in New Hampshire at Keene State College on Saturday, Dec. 3 before heading to Boston to play Northeastern on Sunday, Dec. 4. They make their homecoming appearance at the Sky Rink the following weekend on Friday, Dec. 9 against Marist College for their penultimate game of 2016.
