The Weekend: September 25-27

Paris Martineau, Contributing Writer

Hopefully the past few weeks of classes have helped folks get back into the swing of things. Dont let Bobst claim the weekend and go check out these exciting events to take a well-deserved break.

Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind
85 E. Fourth St.
For those who love experimental theatre, this is the place to be. Hosted in the small black box theatre hidden away on the bottom floor of the poetry-rich and ineffably hip KGB Bar, the show is famous for its attempt of 30 plays in 60 minutes. Performed by the New York Neo-Futurists, this interactive and ever-changing show explores all topics imaginable such as love, sadness and comedy. Check out the show this Friday and Saturday night both at 10:30 p.m. and bring student ID for discounted tickets off the regular $19 admission.

Brooklyn Flea Record Fair
90 Kent Avenue
This Saturday will be the perfect opportunity to experience the famed Smorgasburg while flipping through records at more than 50 vendors at the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair. Whether you are looking for that underground synth pop album whose name has slipped has slipped your mind, something more mainstream or a classic rock album, the odds are in your favor. In addition to the overload of vinyl, there will be five special DJ sets throughout the day and a scenic view of the East River from a Brooklyn beer garden. Admission is free all day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The New York Coffee Festival
69th Regiment Armory
This is the creme de la creme of coffee events. This two-day festival starting Saturday includes live presentations and tastings from over 70 coffee, food, and coffee equipment suppliers. In addition to endless coffee tastings, barista demos and delicious street food, attendees will also be treated to live music, art and so much more. Make sure to head out before 9 a.m. as more than 10,000 people from all over the globe are expected to attend. Tickets are $20 and available online at www.newyorkcoffeefestival.com.
