À Moi Fall/Winter 2015
February 13, 2015
The À Moi Fall/Winter 2015 presentation, designed by Alejandra Alonso, featured a new collection filled with contrast: simple, sophisticated pieces as well as elegant, extravagant ones. These slight contrasts may not catch one’s attention at first glance, but the results are imminent. The clothes, footwear and music all seemed to vary and, in result, highlighted one another.
Just observing the footwear, one could immediately see the disparities. Some of the models wore casual, yet sharp, white sneakers that elevated inches off the ground, while others slipped into classy gold kitty heels. Surprisingly, these distinctions in shoe choice added to the collection’s appeal.
Another subtle distinction was the music that embodied the presentation. One minute, the French tunes were light-hearted, simple and elegant, and the next the music became edgy and energetic. Overall, as the music varied, so did the contrasts of the clothes, slowly becoming more apparent throughout the collection.
The clothing itself consisted of a range of elements. One standout look was a modest, dark blue evening gown with a feathery-like appearance. It was simple, tasteful, and beautifully made. Another evening gown, although equally chic, was much more striking with its dazzling embellishments and sparkle. Though it would seem that these two would clash, they actually accentuated one another. Rather than creating discordance, the contrasts in the atmosphere and attire highlighted and complemented the overall feel of the collection.
