Very few students can say the organization they created has freed 65 people from one of the toughest detainment facilities in New York City. Amanda Lawson has done just that, and so much more for criminal justice reform both inside and outside of the NYU community.

Broome Residential College students work with the Bronx Freedom Fund to ensure people can be bailed out of jail. As a part of the Dollar Bail Brigade, NYU students can be on call to pay the dollar fee to get someone released.
