As expressed by creative director Bernardo Rojo, this collection was about looking back to the old glamour of American style and modernizing it. It was a mix of 80’s inspired volume and 50’s influenced innocence in this years Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Each look stood out from the pleated trousers to the trucker jackets.
Models, sternly and purposefully strutting down the runway, sported slicked back hair and glossy makeup. They wore white tennis shoes, completing each ensemble without taking attention away from the rest of the look. One standout look was the royal blue neoprene motorcycle jacket paired with a royal blue cotton printed dot western skirt and matching single pleat trouser.
The scenery had an old fashion taste with sparks of modernism, as seen in the white runway and black and white backdrops. The show opened with a mini presentation on the screens of landscapes. The New York Public Library could not have been a better backdrop for this sophisticated collection.
A particularly distinct feature of the show was the string orchestra playing in the beginning, building into a crescendo as each model walked perfectly in sync to the live music.
