Brooklyn Chic is alive and thriving in Bespoken’s newest Fall/Winter 2014 menswear collection, but was anything truly new this season?
Models stood in angst as alternative music blared in the background. With a mixture of grungy colors, this season’s collection seemed to take inspiration from a theme of warfare and battle as camouflaged sweatshirts, silver bullet necklace pendants, and militaristic booties were displayed.
Olives, charcoal herringbone greys, muddled navys and pops of burgundy made their way onto cargo trousers, hooded blazers and short point 3/4 placket shirts. Plaid made a quick appearance in a charcoal tinted blazer and formal trouser look that stole the spotlight, literally as the model stood solo bathed in light.
Overall, however, Bespoken’s Tailored Vandal lacked a sense of uniqueness or originality to make the collection truly stand out. Despite its on the mark execution that is always apparent, the line may blend in with a slew of others this coming season.
