A DJ played upbeat, hyper music from his Mac computer as the Isaac Cruz spring/summer 2014 collection dazzled its audience for the first time. The atmosphere in the studio was extremely festive, which complemented the new pieces.
Cruz said that one of the goals behind this season’s collection was to create ensembles that were “lighter and easier” in comparison to his previous collection. He stated that he wanted these new pieces to be multipurpose; wearable to a barbecue, a day at the office, or a party.
The majority of this collection was black and white, but some dresses and skirts featured a dainty, soft floral pattern. Sheer tops were matched with crop tops over mini skirts, exposing the right amount of midriff. Black and white ankle-length dresses drew onlookers’ attention because of their chic, stylish cuts. The clothing gave an appearance of cleanliness and delicateness.
There were trendy but subtle hints of black and white leather in some outfits, such as a white leather necklace that held a large purple stone suspended over a model’s chest or a soft white leather belt that hugged the torso on a gorgeous sundress. The make up was simple and natural. The models wore their hair pulled back into ponytails and tied with black and white ribbons, completing the “light and easy” look. Solid colored open-toed heels accompanied most ensembles. The debut of the Isaac Cruz spring/summer collection was an overall breathtaking, stylish combination of practical pieces.
