Fotini’s Spring/Summer 2013 presentation at Lincoln Center was definitely one for the sophisticated girly girl. With a color palette consisting of soft pinks, pale blues and yellows, crisp whites and vibrant pops of green, the clothes embodied the freshness of a new spring season.
While there was a clear theme throughout the collection, there was a surprising amount of variety in the types of pieces shown.
Among the sea of cute party dresses, there were also floor grazing frocks, gowns, suits, shorts, skirts and shirts with crystal buttons. In many of the pieces, feminine and flirty cuts were embraced, but there was also the occasional classically cut and oh-so-flattering dress- fit for the work place.
Not to mention, the majority of Fotini’s pieces were totally wearable and flattering to the figure. Strategically placed darts and empire cuts created appealing shapes.
In furthering the youthful feel of the collection, makeup was kept simple. The models were-fresh faced with dewy skin, peachy cheeks, pale pink lips and a flawless complexion. Finally, with such intricate embellishments already in the designs, the jewelry was kept simple with dainty diamond rings and thin pave bracelets, if anything at all.
The overall atmosphere in the showroom was ethereal and organic, as purple flowers and potted green plants surrounded the sleek white pedestals on which the models stood. A mock runway was created from a wooden arch covered in willowing green plants that enhanced the feeling of being lost in a garden oasis.
