After NYU postponed his Feb. 16 visit, Lucian Wintrich, a conservative White House correspondent for Gateway Pundit, spoke to the NYU College Republicans on Thursday. The event remained peaceful, although audience members trickled out after Wintrich deviated from his original narrative.
NYU College Republicans learned that their event with guest speaker Lucian Wintrich would be postponed due to security concerns, which left some NYUCR members frustrated and annoyed.
No, NYU should not strip “the College Republicans of its affiliation until it can show responsibility and reasonable conduct,” in fact, it should do the complete opposite. New York University should condemn hate groups like ANTIFA who shut down free speech.
It can be frustrating to discuss politics with people who have different viewpoints that one's own. However, we should not shut ourselves away from the opportunity to engage.

With NYU being a overwhelmingly liberal school, many students and faculty responded to Gavin McInnes's comments in the same way. However, being intolerant of anyone's ideas to the point of violence is an attack on the First Amendment.
