Loris Diran Spring/Summer 2014

September 13, 2013
Diran’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection drew most of its inspiration from Art Week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The collection made heavy use of sand, bronze, and cream colors and employed lightweight cottons and silk; these neutral tones were juxtaposed by Diran’s use of electric blue accents which fostered aesthetics reminiscent of central Asian royalty.

Christine Alcalay Spring/Summer 2014

September 11, 2013
A playlist as diverse as Kanye West, Disclosure, and Gavin Degraw was the first clue to the eccentricity and mix-and-matching of Christine Alcalay’s spring/summer 2014 presentation, which was located (quite appropriately) above a fabric store at Projective Space on Allen Street.

September 11, 2013
Walking into Heidi Gardner’s Spring/Summer 2014 presentation, no one knew what to expect from the dark designer with a history of unusual presentations.
