The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is an organization dedicated to promoting Hong Kong based companies and connecting them to other major parties around the globe. The council runs Fashion Hong Kong, a series of events showcasing Hong Kong Fashion designers. For the Fall/Winter 2018 season, three designer labels were showcased: Harrison Wong, Anveglosa, and Heaven Please+.
The show opened with Harrison Wong. Wong’s brand offers contemporary looks with an edgy flare. The brand’s edgy style was evident through sweaters with holes on the inner elbow, as well as gradient tees with dark overcoats. The label Anveglosa followed Wong’s collection. Anveglosa focuses on fine leathers and elegance, creating looks defined by flattering cuts and top-level craftsmanship. Every piece featured at the show was either black, burgundy, or white leather. The order the models came out in created a gorgeous gradient from dark to light.
The final label, Heaven Please+, focuses applying arts, music, and literature into designs. The label has a unique look that aims to individualize seemingly simple clothing, creating looks that allow people to bring out their individuality. Blazers were seen in a new light, featured in bright purples and reds. The three designers brought individual looks that worked together to reinstate Hong Kong fashion’s presence in the fashion world.
