Nancy Vuu S/S 2017
September 12, 2016
Remixed orchestral music sets the mood for the premiere Nancy Vuu — a seasoned children and junior wear designer — collection to include women’s wear. Nancy Vuu uses the most luxurious materials to create children’s looks befitting royalty. In Vuu’s first collection including womenswear she attempts to mesh the “whimsy and magic” of her children’s collection with feminine sophistication and elegance.
However, the show falters as Vuu shows women, junior and children designs in one singular collection . The children’s wear easily stole the show in style and the incredible charm of the child models stole the hearts of everyone in the audience. The womenswear had a few winning pieces, particularly the intricate beading on a some of the gowns.
The collection is so large that there is no cohesion. Some of the children’s looks build off the women’s looks offering a mother-daughter motif. But the children’s looks in each duo upstage their adult counterpart. Overall Vivienne Huu’s children’s looks delight, and perhaps she can learn to design for women but at this time, it is hard to imagine many women in Huu’s designs.

Talk about lacking cohesion, halfway through an article critiquing Nancy Vuu, you mistakenly call the designer Vivienne Huu repeatedly. Unfortunate.

This is not an article but an opinion that really doesn’t matter. You even misspelled the designer’s name in the bottom. Overall the collection was unique, inspiring, and amazing.
