Natural white and casual elegance dominated the Steven Alan Spring 2014 presentation held at Lincoln Center early Tuesday morning. Sacrificing comfort for fashion? That’s not the motto Alan had in mind when designing this collection, for almost every piece of clothing in it gave off the airy lightness that is both stylish and practical.
Adolfo Sanchez’s Spring/Summer collection, presented at The Out NYC, took audiences to the metallic world of a regal garden party. Surrounded by mirrors, black and white curtains, and grass that climbed from the ground to the walls surrounding the stage, viewers were able to observe Sanchez’s statuesque pieces, which featured a palette of metallic, white, black, and teal.
Set in a grungy, concrete parking garage, the Siki Im Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear Collection was aptly set to the name of the collection, titled “Remorse.”
Walking in beneath a canopy of branches, attendees to the debut of Yeohlee Teng's Spring/Summer 2014 collection are presented with the beauty of Jones Wood Garden. Surrounded by townhouses and cut off from the urbanity of the city, the atmosphere is paradise-like: intimate and serene.
The high barrel vaulted ceiling and dark mahogany wood of the High Line Hotel was the perfect backdrop for the crisp colors and ethereal fabrics of the PARKCHOONMOO show. The designer, Choonmoo Park employed her talent for creating clean and rigid silhouettes and delighted the audience by exploring delicate fabrics such as silk and organza.
Falguni and Shane Peacock, known for their bold textile, color, and texture choices, did not disappoint in their Spring/Summer 2014 show at Lincoln Center.
