From Sept. 14 to 19, the NYU Department of Public Safety received three reports of controlled substance violations, one report of criminal trespassing, three reports of harassment, five reports of larceny, one report of a lost and found item and one report of stalking.

Controlled Substance Violations

On Sept. 14 at 4:35 p.m., an NYU staff member reported witnessing underage alcohol possession in a residence hall. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of Community Standards.

On Sept. 14 at 8:30 p.m., an NYU Abu Dhabi staff member reported witnessing underage alcohol possession in a residence hall. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of
Community Standards.

On Sept. 15 at 11:30 p.m., a resident assistant reported witnessing underage alcohol possession in Broome Street Residence Hall. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of Community Standards.

Criminal Trespassing

On Sept. 14 at 11 p.m., an NYU Public Safety officer reported witnessing an unidentified person trespassing at Lafayette Street Residence Hall. The person was located and escorted out of the building without further incident. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

Harassment

On Sept. 15 at 3:16 a.m., an NYU student reported being harassed in Lafayette Hall. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of Community Standards.

On Sept. 15 at 7:15 p.m., two resident assistants reported being harassed as they were walking to Othmer Residence Hall. Police arrived and scouted the area. No injuries were reported, and the case was closed and referred to the New York Police Department.

On Sept. 17 at 8:40 p.m., an NYU student reported that she was a victim of harassment in a residence hall. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of Community Standards.

Larceny

On Sept. 14 at 10:30 p.m., an NYU affiliate reported her bike missing from the bike racks outside of 721 Broadway. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

On Sept. 17, an NYU student reported rings missing from a bathroom in the Kimmel Center for University Life. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

On Sept. 18 at 1:10 p.m., an NYU affiliate reported that an unidentified man left without paying for some food in Weinstein Residence Hall. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

On Sept. 19 at 12:15 p.m., an NYU student reported that his bike was missing from the bike racks near 6 MetroTech Center. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

On Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m., an NYU student reported that cash and a vaporizer were missing from an unsecured locker in Palladium Gym. Police notification was declined, and the case is open and under investigation.

Lost and Found Items

On Sept. 14 at 3:20 p.m., an NYU student reported that her sunglasses and AirPods case were missing from a classroom in the Silver Center for Arts and Science. Police were notified but no report was written. Items were recovered from the Lost and Found on Sept. 17 and returned to the student. The case has been closed.

Stalking

On Sept. 15 at 12:25 a.m., an NYU student reported that she was the victim of stalking in Kimmel. Police notification was declined, and the case was closed and referred to the Office of Community Standards.
