Inactive since a total system shutdown Sunday night, limited subway service will resume starting Thursday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced earlier today. Due to extensive flooding in the subway tunnels, there will still be no service between Midtown Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn. As an alternative, shuttle buses will transport passengers between those areas. Additionally, bus and subway fares will be free for the remainder of the week.
