Steinhardt Brings Soul to ‘Sister Act’

Steinhardt brought the 1992 film "Sister Act" to life, this past weekend, with sequin-covered habits and a performance comparable to the most spirited of church services.
“A New Brain” is a 1998 musical based on the book of William Finn and James Lapine that follows the life of songwriter Gordon Schwinn who is diagnosed with a brain condition. Hosted by The Gallery of Players, the play runs until Feb. 18.

Tisch alumni Justin Cimino and Sasha Lazare wanted to find uncommon ways to tell relevant stories and inspire conversation. Their NYC-based non-profit theater company, Pigeonholed Theater Company, did just that with its recent haunting production of "Not Clown."

Columbia University recently adapted Ismail Kadare's "Broken April" for the stage in a minimalist, but powerful production.
The New York Theater Festival will host their annual Winterfest Fest from Jan. 2 - Mar. 4. This year CAS sophomore, Cayla Berejikian, will have her original production for ‘End of April’ performed on Feb. 22, 23 and 25 at the Hudson Guild Theater.

"This One's For the Girls" is a new off-Broadway musical telling the story of one woman's life through some of the most iconic female pop hits of all time.
The Siege is based on the 2002 event that Palestinian fighters were trapped in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem for 39 days. Starting Oct. 12, this story has been brought to the stage of NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts by the Palestinian Freedom Theatre.
