Given that President John Sexton has pledged to continue the conversation on race and inclusion, the administration should denounce the Facebook page and continue to address the underlying racial tensions which cause these racist beliefs to fester.
NYU needs to take its commitment to these topics more seriously and act toward expanding them across the board, starting with basic services provided to its diverse student body.

As much as I hope Missouri is on a progressive path toward a world where all students are cared for equally, it will take more than just removing the president to accomplish this.
The resignation of University of Missouri chancellor Tim Wolfe is an important first step for student protests against racism. But getting a president to resign is not everything; the movement must have clear goals and means in mind if they are to meaningfully improve race relations at their school.
