An opinion writer shares her perspective on why last week's inflammatory New York Times Op-Ed from a "senior official" in the Trump White House, and former President Barack Obama's subsequent speech at the University of Illinois, should serve as energy and encouragement for young people to get out and vote this November.
As a humanities student, I tend to shy away from science. However, I marched with others on Saturday because I recognize the need for science in policymaking.
Citizens must not only demand that politicians institute green policies but also recognize how they themselves benefit from an unstable environment. Protecting the environment begins with citizens.
I would love to see a separation between work and home life; however Councilman Rafael L. Espinal Jr.'s bill, if passed, has potential to be ineffective due to its ambiguity.
