While no politicians want to appear as if they are against 9/11 victims in an election year, the JASTA is not in the best interests of the country and passing it is a betrayal of their constituencies.
The occasional admission of students with possible criminal backgrounds — like Wolfgang Ballinger — should not damage the reputation of the Ban the Box movement.
Although New York has a thriving LGBTQ+ community, it is unfortunately still uncommon to see queer and nonconforming folks displaying their love for one another in public.

While we may be laughing at the current state memes have placed our most important communication tool in, we can’t keep pretending that this joke is funny forever, and we definitely can’t keep ignoring when the joke goes too far.
