NYU claimed three of this year’s 23 MacArthur Fellowship recipients, also known as the “Genius Grant.” Computer Science Professor Subhash Khot, Associate Professor of Music Composition Julia Wolfe and alumnus Branden Jacobs-Jenkins all received the honor this year for work in their respective fields.

The Adjunct Faculty Union, a group of professors comprising of over 60 percent of the working staff at NYU, has historically rallied for fair wages and benefits for its members. As President Hamilton begins his tenure, the group has even more goals to achieve and issues to address.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a plan to extend the current bike lanes to 8th St., from Astor Place to 6th Ave on Sept. 13. Many NYU students believe that biking, skateboarding and skating save both time and money compared to traveling by subway, cab or bus.
