Kenneth Ning Fall/Winter 2016
February 6, 2016
Kenneth Ning’s latest collection, Revenge, effortlessly mixed tailored silhouettes, dark hues and bold prints to execute looks that will be sure to kill this season. Inspired by Quentin Tarantino films and Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins, the collection was equally parts moody and tough.
While Ning is a menswear designer, both men and women were featured in this season’s collection continuing the gender-neutral trend displayed on several international menswear runways. Models stood on platforms 5 at a time with each look complementing the other. Cutouts bordered with silver metal, Doc Martens, oversized zippers and unfinished linings adorned nearly every look. Several of the looks had flared pants which are sure to be a style resurfacing this fall. One standout look was a pair of severely flared bell-bottom jeans paired with a tucked in burgundy silk top. Another standout piece was a black coat with oversized zippers and metal circles on the left chest juxtaposed on an otherwise fitted silhouette.
Ning stated in the presentation handout that this collection was for “the modern fashion outlaw” and with this collection anyone will be well equipped to bring out his or her inner rebel.
