Giulietta Spring/Summer 2016
September 11, 2015
Sophia Sizzi entered the fashion realm back in 2011 and immediately established herself as one of the newest up-and-coming fashion designers to look out for. Now take a few steps forward, and we arrive at the release of her Spring/Summer 2016 collection for her fashion house, Giulietta. Known for its Italian inspired designs, the fashion house continued its tradition of elegance and grace as meticulously tailored dresses dominated the collection designed to accentuate the woman’s body.
The tasteful designs drew viewers back to the 60s when women exuded sex appeal without the unnecessary display of the body. Sizzi blends these classic designs with intricate details that add a touch of modernity, especially with the addition of a few jumpsuits in this collection. The sharp, triangular patterns on the bosom and strategically placed horizontal stripes highlight the figure while pleating and thick bandaging tie the pieces all together.
When asked what type of woman she keeps in mind while designing, Sizzi’s immediate response was a woman who is probably in her 70’s right now. The intertwining of two very different generations of women generate an addicting look that can be accredited to Giulietta’s continued success this season.
