Whit Spring/Summer 2016

Whether inspired by the women of Brooklyn or those of Bali, the Whit girl of past seasons has always carried a certain air d’aisance while maintaining a vibrant, colorful energy. This dynamic was refined in Whitney Pozgay’s presentation of her playful Spring/Summer 2016 collection which featured constructed pants, asymmetrical pencil skirts and elegant loose dresses. The designer’s travels to Africa inspired the airy dress sleeves, brightly painted insects over abstract foliage and bold patterns reminiscent of the Congo.

Collaborations with artist Adam Handler reinforced this homage to African beauty in the form of a giraffe painted on an oversized dress shirt. Pozgay’s husband and creative partner Parker Argote added a contrasting chic feel by painting a spectrum of pastel watercolors onto other pieces. The entire collection featured looks to be worn by anyone from a tree-climbing Nantucket teen to a sophisticated bohemian jetsetter. All were smartly tied together by a trendy, knotted crop top that will work for any elegant woman of 2016.
