Being neither a sovereign nation nor a state has prevented the island’s residents from enjoying the full rights of American citizenship: Puerto Rican residents are not allowed to vote in federal elections, they have no representation in the Senate, and the delegate in the House of Representatives serves more as a figurehead.
An eerie reminder of the United States dominating relationship with Puerto Rico looms over attendees of Thursday nights panel at the Museum of the Old Colony exhibit.  The exhibit will be on display at the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center until March 16.
