On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX 40-22. What was supposed to be a close game between the two teams turned out to be a completely one-sided matchup. Instead of football taking center stage, talk at the WSN office was about Taylor Swift, President Donald Trump and halftime performer, Kendrick Lamar.
“I’m a hater at my core. Giants by blood, Bills by alum, therefore: I hate the Eagles, I hate the Chiefs or any sort of dynasty, and I only enjoyed Kendrick’s performance as a fellow hater. At least Josh Allen is MVP.”

“need a link to Kendrick’s jeans.”
— Grace Tan, Identity & Equity Editor
“A MINORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the symbolism in Kendrick’s performance — powerful stuff. Also, I kept a record of most of the advertisements and I have to say, Instacart, you blew me away! Advertising is a huge part of my concentration, and seeing all the company mascots was basically my Avengers: Infinity War.”

“As someone from New Orleans, I was just thrilled to watch so many people come together in my favorite city and appreciate it for what it is: a welcoming, beautiful, fun place. Seeing people partying together in the streets was thrilling. And FOMO-inducing.”
— Alisia Houghtaling, Multimedia Editor
“Losing by such a large margin in front of Taylor Swift is embarrassing for the Chiefs, but I’m incredibly satisfied with these results. She was an Eagles fan first, anyway — but now I know what it felt like to be on the other side of those last two Vikings games. :/”
— Kiran Komanduri, Photo Editor
“The Bills would have given us a game worth watching.”
— Matthew Singh, Deputy Sports Editor
“I left my dorm, got ice cream and witnessed a robbery all before the Chiefs scored one touchdown. This is what life is all about.”
— Dani Biondi, Film & TV Editor
“Kendrick’s smirk and grin after he said ‘Say Drake’ was the cherry on top.”
— Krish Dev, Director of Creative & Digital Strategy
“With the amount of times I texted my mom or dad some variation of ‘go birds,’ they deserve an apology. I could not be happier with the outcome, and I will be rolling in joy until the next Abbott Elementary episode. BIG happy birthday shoutout to Saquon Barkley and Cooper DeJean, we all celebrated for you!!! This makes me sound like an Eagles fan, but my hatred for the Chiefs is just that strong. Anyways… do good, be good, God bless and go Bir- Bills.”
— Isabella D’Erasmo, Deputy Managing Editor
“Serena Williams crip walking on stage was crazy but Kendrick Lamar wearing those beautiful bootcut jeans was even crazier.”
