Glossier’s You, a trendy perfume made to enhance the wearer’s natural scent.

Thomas Chou, Beauty and Style Editor

Now that New York City has officially defrosted from the frigidity we call winter, we’re finally able to start shedding the last of our thick sweaters and coats in favor of lighter layers. But, with the change in season also prompts a change in perfume — it’s officially time to put away the heavy musks and pick up some fresh florals instead. If you’re looking to find a new, signature spring scent, read on to check out some tried-and-true fragrance recommendations that will keep you smelling fresh all season long.

(MALIN + GOETZ) – Cannabis Eau de Parfum

While marijuana has still yet to be decriminalized in the city, channel your inner stoner with this spicy scent. With warm notes of bergamot and a kick of black peppercorn, the iconic scent of marijuana smoke — perhaps the unofficial fragrance of New York City — is elevated into a chic yet casual perfume that is perfect for everyday wear. Despite the fact that this fragrance does not include any THC in its formulation, it’s not a stretch to say that you’ll be feeling high as kite with this fragrance on your wrists.

Maison Margiela – ‘REPLICA’ Beach Walk

As with all the fragrances in the Maison Margiela ‘REPLICA’ line, Beach Walk perfectly recreates scents you’d smell as you walk by the beach. With notes of lemon, coconut milk and an unmistakable whiff of sunscreen, this fragrance is the ultimate distillation of summer’s olfactory essence — all bottled up. If you’re finding yourself spending less time by the ocean this spring and summer than you’d like, have no fear — Beach Walk brings out the beach babe in all of us.

Glossier – You

Pick up this light and effervescent fragrance whose brand claims its first ingredient is: you. With base notes of ambrette, ambrox and musk, the scent aims to blend in with the natural scent of your skin. Since every person’s natural scent is different, the fragrance claims to smell unique on each wearer. For instance, on me,  it smells like Swedish Fish. I guess I just can’t help but naturally smell so sweet!

Aesop – Tacit Eau de Parfum

Tacit is a clean and bright fragrance that’s base notes of basil and citrus evoke the feeling of standing in a spring garden. It’s fresh and simple, and that’s what makes it an instant classic. While the fragrance might seem subtle in comparison to other sweeter, more sugary scents, the grassy perfume is long-wearing yet understated. While it is never out of style to smell clean, there’s just something about springtime that makes it even more in vogue.
