Five fashionable spots to gift shop at the holiday market
December 9, 2015
It’s the season of giving, and that means it’s time to figure out what you are going to give your stylish loved ones. One of the most festive traditions of Greenwich Village is only a few blocks north of campus. The Union Square Holiday Market is one of the best places to find gifts and other trinkets at a range of prices. The market features local vendors all with their own specialties, many of which are quite fashionable and can add to anyone’s new year style. Here’s a list of some of the best booths to check out for your next fashion find.
The Pearl Gallery
If you’re interested in fine jewelry, then The Pearl Gallery is the place for you. Specializing in gemstone and pearl hand jewelry, The Pearly Gallery creates unique pieces in different settings for people of all ages. The Pearl Gallery even makes their jewelry in a variety of 14-karat gold, vermeil and sterling silver.
Hanami Designs and Jewelry
If you or your loved one is really into one-of-a-kind jewelry, then be sure to stop by Hanami Real Orchid Jewelry. Each piece of jewelry and design at Hanami is made with natural flowers that are carefully dried, preserved and made into unique pieces of jewelry. The jewelry and designs at Hanami are personal — no two pieces are the same. As stated by Urban Space NYC, each flower is “carefully selected for originality, color and shape.”
Karma Living
Check out Karma Living for gifts to style a home and personal space. Karma Living specializes in handmade home decor, such as lampshades, pillows and quilts. The booth is definitely the place for those who enjoy stores such as Pier 1 Imports and Anthropologie — but it has much better prices.
Brooklyn Charm
If you know anyone who loves galaxy print leggings or puppies, you must get them a gift from this place. Like many of the vendors at the Holiday Market, Brooklyn Charm specializes in handmade jewelry. What’s unique about Brooklyn Charm is that it features jewelry from local designers and many pieces creatively use geographical locations and astrology. Extra adorable pieces feature cute animals.
Adelo
Last but certainly not the least is Adelo. Specializing in neckwear for men, Adelo is the place to go for solid and chic menswear accessories. This booth sells handmade ties, bowties and scarves. All of the pieces are made out of 100 percent wool and cashmere, and are imported from Germany.
