The Slow and Steady Wins the Race Fall 2014 presentation took place in the midst of the freezing cold at the Koenig and Clinton Gallery.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by the casual chimes of a musician playing the xylophone at the back left of a large white rectangular room. The large head of a Chinese dragon stood alone in the center of the space as intriguingly dressed attendees gathered around the perimeter.

Upon closer inspection, the dragon’s back was layered with a collection of outerwear waiting to be peeled away and presented by grim-faced models dressed in black and white.

10 previously-produced outerwear looks were one by one picked up by a model, held up in front of the audience, and then passed down a line of four models.

The first look was a black blazer with seamless, white piping, the next was an unbleached twill trench coat, a “sweat blazer” with a hood came next, then an evening blazer in black and cream, a denim suede jacket, a poncho, a bright red anorak and a stylish clear PVC trench coat.

After all the jackets were extracted off the back of the dragon, two men appeared and began performing with the dragon. Once the dragon had made its way around the ring of audience members once, it stealthily disappeared through a doorway, and just like that the performance was over and audience members were left to discuss the intriguing presentation just witnessed.
