Fit for the young professional, Tibi’s spring 2013 collection is composed of square structuring and minimalist silhouettes.
The collection only featured five subdued colors and one pattern—a black and white graphic, Escher-esque print of sunflowers. This pattern was incorporated into dresses and peplum shirts, and often paired with leather details.
Simple forms referenced to the 90s: bare midriffs, oversized denim and drop-waist pants. Many looks featured light denim vests and jackets worn over skintight, cropped shirts.
Interspersed with a few pops of pastel, the runway was predominantly black and white. A pale blue slip could be seen under a black dress with floral cutouts, and a high-waisted slit in the slip brought femininity to an otherwise masculine silhouette.
Models’ makeup and hair complemented the elemental shape of the garments. Hair was worn straight and tucked behind each model’s ear, while faces were nearly nude.
Front row attendees included Kelly Framel of the Glamourai, Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller, Miroslava Duma, Olivia Palermo and Solange Knowles.
Tibi’s spring 2013 collection is laidback and easy, while chic and modern, and remains consistent with the brand’s signature style.
