Looking fashionable while feeling comfortable isn’t always easy, especially while at the gym. You’re constantly moving around and exerting lots of energy, so you need to wear something practical. At the same time, wearing the same rotation of athletic clothes, day after day, quickly becomes mundane.
Here are five ways to fuse comfort and personal style without sacrificing either one.
Simplistic track star

Versatile and simple, this black and white outfit is an easy go-to on the days when you don’t know what to wear. These black track shorts, made of nylon, can be worn for running, lifting, cycling and much more. Pair them with a stylish, matching track jacket to embody the timeless athletic mindset of “look good, feel good, play good.”
Next, opt for a white athletic t-shirt, like this four-way-stretch and moisture-wicking piece from Under Armour. To top it off, put on some white New Balance 740s — ideal for high impact activities.

Half work, half yap
If you are looking for a more social, casual workout experience, showing off a favorite movie or show offers a natural conversation starter in between sets. A simple black graphic t-shirt is a great option to display any interest, and the soft cotton fabric will make working out both cozy and comfortable. Add a pair of cotton shorts to match the black theme that are easy to move around in while you exercise.
Finally, black high-top Converse will allow you to easily grip the ground when performing squats or deadlifts, but are still casual enough that you can wear them out of the gym to your next class. Not to mention, the white accents add a stylish touch.
Pink pilates princess
For the ultimate girly look, level up your next pilates session with this pink and black outfit. Black leggings and a matching sports bra serve as the base of the look, and pale pink accents come from the bag — a bold contrast sure to turn heads. The leggings and sports bra, both from Lululemon, provide light support — ideal for pilates exercises.

I can confidently attest that these Asics sneakers are the most comfortable and stylish gym shoes that you will own. I purchased a pair last year, and I haven’t reached for any other sneakers since then.
This CSB baby pink jacket is the perfect post-pilates pull over. When not actively wearing the jacket, you can store it in a pink, spacious gym bag along with the rest of your athletic gear.
’90s minimalist
For anyone seeking a refined approach, emulating Meredith Blake from “The Parent Trap” is an excellent choice. Blending elegance, sophistication and comfort, Meredith’s wardrobe perfectly embodies the timeless, ’90s minimalist style. To channel her look for your next workout, start with her signature black and white matching set.

With moisture-wicking, quick-dry fabric, these leggings provide excellent support for medium to high impact activities. The sports bra, which is double-lined and features a ’90s-inspired square neckline, is the perfect combination of comfort and style. To match the set, throw on some chunky white sneakers. This pair from Nike is designed with a padded collar, tongue and insole, providing the utmost foot support. Lastly, you can’t become Meredith without adding an accessory. So finish it off with a sleek, silicone-grip headband.
Y2K gym rat

The early 2000s were the epitome of comfort and style for athletic wear. This baby blue and white outfit, featuring mid-rise running shorts, a racerback tank and chunky sneakers, will have you covered for your next cardio workout. With a side pocket, these shorts offer a spot to store small essentials. The street tank is ideal for high-impact activities, as it is fitted, breathable and made with all-around stretch material. Last but not least are these Asics sneakers, which, as stated before, never fail to deliver comfort.
