The Return of the XFL Highlights the Lack of Support for Women’s Sports

The XFL is back after it failed nearly 20 years ago and lost $70 million — this time it has the financial backing of WWE CEO and chairman Vince McMahon. Meanwhile, the WNBA, NWSL and NWHL have received little support from investors and the media since their individual inceptions.

SPS senior Michael Conslato, SPS junior Mason Gallegos, SPS junior John Kowalewski, SPS senior Steven Esposito and SPS sophomore Giancarlo Pochintesta were the five starters for the game on Dec. 1 against Drexel University. Their next game will be on Friday, Dec. 8 against SUNY Stony Brook at Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers.
