At a university as large as NYU, we have a responsibility to combat climate change to the best of our abilities. This should be a top-down and bottom-up effort for everybody at the university — from students simply turning off lights to the university utilizing sustainable resources and alternatives.

The consequences for drinking are much less severe than those of using marijuana — this mirrors how pot is treated in society as well. However, the number of weed-related incidents is much lower than that of alcohols rates, so the university should reconsider its ambiguous and severe drug policy surrounding marijuana.
