United Airline’s barring of two young girls from boarding their flight because of their apparel highlights a disturbing trend of using dress codes to target women and make them overly aware of their appearance.
Celebrities’ experiences are not representative of much of the population, and resources are easily available to them. Even though famous people should still be honest about their problems, they should bring these topics to the table without being the predominant voices of these issues.
As a large client of Aramark, NYU has immense power and potential influence over the standards that the corporation should be meeting in order to prevent further issues. The university must call upon their partner to remedy this inhumane treatment of prisoners immediately, and if they refuse, NYU must find a new food service partner.
Despite Bumble's innovative design, it still seems hard to believe that it will cause any real change in the norms of the dating game, especially with online harassment.

Recently, neglecting to use the oxford comma has sparked a lawsuit that could end up costing Maine $10 million, proving that the Oxford Comma is absolutely necessary.
With climate change's effects becoming more apparent and E.P.A. Chief Scott Pruitt's denying that climate change is tied to carbon dioxide emissions, it is now more important than ever that NYU students continue their efforts to fight climate change in any way they can.
While many on the right have called these protests pointless and a waste of time, the decision to keep young adults covered proves that the GOP is being influenced by the pressure coming from young protestors.
NYU does not have the authority to defy the federal government, and barring future court rulings regarding the deportations and the travel ban it is likely that it never will. Instead of trying to turn the university into a sovereign entity within the state of New York, these misguided protesters would be better off using their time and resources to combat unjust travel bans in a more informed, constructive context.
