Exposure: Protests and Rallies
October 11, 2016
Not only are protests and rallies part of what revives my faith in our “free” society, but they’re also one of my favorite things to photograph. While I’m in D.C. this semester, I’m constantly reminded of how important it is for the peoples’ voice to be heard. Just this morning, I was on the steps on the Supreme Court, protesting about the lack of action the Senate is taking about judicial nominations, including Merrick Garland’s (#DoYourJob). Maybe it feels good to yell, maybe it’s the only outlet we really have to let our voices be heard. Regardless, protests and rallies are vital in getting our representatives to understand what matters to us as a society. These photos are from a Fight for 15 protest, anti-Trump rally, and Bernie protests in New York City.
