The Fitness Feature

March 26, 2018

Fitness. It’s something we love to hate. But like it or not, being active is an incredibly important part of our health. It’s been proven that taking the time to plan physical activity into your day can improve every aspect of your life, making you a more productive and mentally healthy individual.

That being said, ensuring that fitness becomes a part of your daily schedule can be difficult. Working out in New York City is expensive, and some don’t have the means to drop hundreds of dollars on classes — not to mention that setting your alarm clock an hour earlier than you normally would is a battle in itself.

For this reason, we bring you the Fitness Issue. You’ll find how to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to buying classes and how to best utilize NYU’s available athletic facilities. You can also read about the ways that fitness transforms the lives of others by meeting two women who chose to make physical activity their career and by getting an inside look at NYU’s exclusive strength room for their varsity athletes.

We realize that fitness isn’t everyone’s favorite — sometimes it is way easier to spend an afternoon in bed than trekking through the cold for a ride at SoulCycle. Ultimately, we hope that this issue makes you realize the importance of making fitness an integral part of your life. Get ready to be inspired to sweat!
