As No Doubt’s new single “Settle Down” pumped from the speakers, the show began with severe, futuristic leather and nylon garments. Trends such as peplums continued to be featured this season. Also notable were adhesive nylon panels that adorned the models’ calves and upper arms. The show fluidly shifted from dark neutrals to brighter colors and prints. Standouts were printed spandex leggings followed by an all-orange ensemble. The last half of the show was more whimsical than the first, with floaty sundresses, blouses, and even a sky-blue skirt suit. With slicked back, tight braids, minimal makeup, and reflective sunglasses, the beauty look was sporty and clean. Even the darker ensembles had a pop of color with the models’ bright blue and orange eyebrows. Overall, the collection veered from ultramodern to bright. But, with the recurring lyric “Nothing’s gonna knock this girl down” in the background, Kallmeyer’s theme of empowerment stayed constant.
