Alexandre Herchcovitch never ceases to impress. The Brazilian designer introduced his collection in a show about transformation.
Black and white squares and rectangles of different sizes patterned the knee-length, slender-fitting skirts on each model. As the show progressed, the black and white color sequence was complimented by deep green and sun-bright yellow high heels.
Warm peach and soft orange-colored patterns join the geometric mix. The knee-length skirts continue, complimenting the matching blazers, as well as tops with angled shoulders. Eventually, the geometric shapes fade out and transform into solid colors. The bright high heels continue, and the models float along the runway with a swagger that adds to the intense beauty of the scene.
The final transformation occurred when solid colors were contrasted against wild-patterned hearts. Herchcovitch surprised the audience with his use of hearts throughout various outfits towards the end of the show. The hearts are large, typically on the shirt of the outfit, and with the use of funky patters or a vivid color, are a stark distinction from the rest of the outfit. The hearts are a unique twist on an age-old shape, commonly seen in clothing. Herchcovitch cleverly makes them a must-have design on any article of attire.
Overall, the show has a unique transformative essence, evident from the slow, almost eerie music at the beginning to the fast-paced songs towards the end. Paralleling this with the geometric black and white coloring at the opening, to the evolution towards bright colors and splashes of hearts at the conclusion, you end up with a fantastic, unforgettable show.
