Primary Spring/Summer 2013

Incorporating the timelessness of fashion icon Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis with a modern Mediterranean oasis, designers Cleo Schroeder and Roderick Rojo joined forces to create the Primary Spring Summer 2013 collection. These up and coming designers debuted their collection consisting of oxfords, shirtdresses, and micro suede utility coats. Each model donned a signature blue denim or solid white silk bandana on their heads while a low sleek ponytail peeking out. True to the fashions of Jacqueline Onassis, Schroeder and Rojo also had their models sport round black sunglasses.

During an interview with each of the designers, both Schroeder and Rojo revealed that their designs were heavily inspired by a recent trip to Morocco. They wanted their designs to be chic yet playful and loose in order for each piece to be easily packed and able to be mixed while traveling.  The looks throughout the collection were a combination of white, black, and blue hues which would allow for versatility.

Stand out accessories included coordinating olive colored crocodile print kitten heels and envelope clutches. Pairing white and black sand-washed silk chiffon print shirts with black lambskin leather flounce skirts, Schroeder and Rojo created outfits that could be easily transformed from day to night. One outfit featured a black form fitting jersey dress made more playful by silk chiffon draping across the left shoulder. Contrasting with the easy, flowing clothing, the lady like bags and shoes leant a necessary amount of structure and refinement.

As the Primary brand begins to evolve, advocates of luxurious breezy designs will be sure to have plenty of playful elegant options.
