This article seems to try and bring light to a very serious problem in America, but it is poorly written. The opening paragraph is pretentious, which does not surprise me as this is of course NYU and this is most likely written by an underexperienced student. What follows is a story of a person whom I should immediately empathize with but I cannot for the facts of her situation. Unlike many of us in the LGBTQQIA community, Sarah was not kicked out of, nor disowned by, her family. She seems to be victimizing herself while others are actually suffering from a family that will not even tolerate them. And writing for a "politically radical publication" post-graduation? Honey, please.
