I gather you didn't watch the the preseason nor the Magic's first regular season game. Howard was still the center to deal with and yes there was a barrage of threes. Since both Carter and Anderson can shoot the three boy with ease.
Plus you have players like Bass and Barnes who have the muscle to get those offensive rebounds that the Magic had a problem getting before.
So overall the Magic are a lot better and a lot deeper then last year.
What you seem to have forgotten about Hedo was that he was very prone to turnovers. You should really check Carters stats he is no longer chucking up balls, but taking good shots and also playing like a pg at times.

As for Boston they have not added youth to their team they have added more players that are at the tail ends of their careers. With the normal grueling schedule that is the NBA the biggest problem for the Celtics will be to stay healthy and because of their age I just don't see that happening.
