I'm a little confused about the location of this center. Professor Tapiero is first quoted saying "Financial engineering is what we do at Poly; this is not what other people do. We are much more embedded," but then is quoted saying "We have almost no faculty, so we need faculty and resources." Aren't these two statements completely contradictory? If financial engineering is what they do, how can there be almost no faculty? How can something like this be started without any apparent participation by faculty and students from Stern? Is this going to be yet another example of wasteful and inefficient duplication of programs across the different NYU schools?
