Housing changes: gender-neutral housing
Posted onOne of the biggest changes to fall 2013 housing is the university’s decision to allow gender-neutral housing. For the first time, upperclassmen will have the option to share rooms with members of the opposite sex, a change expected to apply to all upperclassman residence halls. NYU will be joining a university trend in making strides to provide a comfortable living environment for students, regardless of gender identity.
| Phase 1: Reapplication and Payment: March 11 to 25, 2013 | Phase 2: Room Selection: April 15 to 19, 2013 |
| Students who wish to live in NYU housing must fill out the online application and deposit a $1,000 reservation fee. If they wish, they can form a group of other students to live with, select gender-neutral housing and/or apply for special-interest housing. | Students may select rooms from the housing inventory depending on their assigned time. |
