In order to give employees time to rest and prepare food, here are the updated foodservice hours.
Weinstein Dining Hall
Breakfast 8:00-10:00 am
Lunch 12:00 noon-3:00 pm
Dinner 5:00-8:00 pm
Kimmel Center
Breakfast 8:00 am-10:00 am
Lunch 12:00 noon-3:00 pm
Dinner 5:00-8:00 pm
UPDATE – Tuesday, Oct. 30 12:33 p.m.
NYU will be closed for Wednesday, Oct. 31. All classes, events and activities will be cancelled.
Student Health Center has temporarily relocated to Kimmel Center for University Life and will be open Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
University has opened Kimmel, Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life and lower level of Bobst Library for students. Students may charge their phones and electronic devices at these locations.
UPDATE – 10:45 p.m.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a recent press conference that the NYU Hospital had lost power and patients are in the process of being moved out.
A YouTube video shows what it claims to be an explosion at the Con Ed Power Plant on E. 14th Street that left hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers without power.
UPDATE – 10:05 pm
According to NYU’s info alert text messaging system, ALL RESIDENCE HALLS are without power. The alert urges students NOT to use elevators or candles.
The highly anticipated arrival of Hurricane Sandy came earlier today, as the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory at approximately 5:00 pm EDT that Post-Tropical Cyclone Sandy had made landfall along the coast of southern New Jersey.
About 120 miles north at NYU’s Washington Square campus, the impact of Sandy is being felt.
According to a number of student sources, power has been lost in numerous residence halls, including Brittany, Carlyle Court, Coral Towers, Gramercy Green, Greenwich Hotel, Palladium, Second Street, The Senior House at 13th Street, and Third North Residence Halls.
Three windows at Coral Towers Residence Hall were damaged but have since been repaired.
