Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2013
Posted onRebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2013 collection is good enough for an Olympic gold medal, so it was only fitting that Ryan Lochte and Sanya Richards Ross sat front row.
Minkoff took the popularity of springtime florals to another level with her designs. While the staple print is bound to hit runways this fashion week, Minkoff’s tropical take on the trend has set her collection apart. Drawing inspiration from iconic 60s and 70s photographer Slim Aarons, Minkoff established a theme of poolside elegance.

Models emerged onto the runway wearing patterned pants, fringed hems and plenty of print. Whether it was floral accents embroidered down a pant leg or dresses featuring multiple patterns, variety was in abundance. While there was a lot of leg, models also sported jumpsuits and overalls. The colors were bright and beachy, featuring rich hues of red, green and indigo.
Models with simply straight hair and natural-looking makeup strutted down the runway to live music by DJ Cassidy and Tennis. Watching them walk was a star-studded crowd, including Caroline Engman, Blair Eadie, Chiara Ferragni, Jenni Radosevich, Lauren Conrad, Bryan Greenberg and Kristin Chenoweth. Hilary Rhoda made a special appearance on the runway, rocking the final look of the collection: a sleeved, summery mini-dress that captured the prettiest prints of the collection, each faded into one another.

Minkoff mastered the feeling of laid-back luxe with designs made for any jet-setter or socialite in-touch with her inner surfer girl.
